Social Media Management Pricing: Build a Quote in 2026

Price the actual management scope: planning, production, approvals, community work and reporting. Use clearly bounded benchmarks and a checked cost example to build a reviewable quote.

Social Media Management Pricing: Build a Quote in 2026AI
On this page

Social media management pricing should start with the work included: strategy, content production, approvals, publishing, community coverage and reporting. Estimate the resources needed for that scope, add the costs you must recover and choose a pricing model the client can understand. An external rate benchmark is context for the quote; your own delivery assumptions determine whether the work is viable.

Use the account boundaries in our guide to managing multiple client accounts to establish which brands and channels the quote covers.

What a published benchmark can establish

On 2026-10-18, YunoJuno's social media manager benchmark displayed an average hourly rate of $54 and an average day rate of £326. Its 2026 report methodology, checked the same day, distinguishes US hourly rates from UK day rates and describes approved contractor rates and confirmed booking data.

The report draws on more than 182,000 platform data points across 2024 and 2025, spanning multiple disciplines. That count is not a social-media-manager sample size. These are directional contractor benchmarks from that platform; they do not establish an agency's monthly management fee, a worldwide average or a guaranteed rate for your region. The public role page does not state a role-specific sample size. Keep the US hourly and UK daily units separate rather than treating them as a currency conversion.

Workstream

Define before quoting

Likely source of additional work

Planning

Brands, channels, campaigns and review meetings.

A new audience, market or campaign brief.

Production

Original assets, supplied assets, formats and localization.

Filming, extra versions or replacement source material.

Approvals

Reviewer, included revision rounds and feedback deadline.

Conflicting feedback or changes after approval.

Community

Channels monitored, coverage window and escalation contact.

Evening coverage or a high-volume incident.

Reporting

Included accounts, metrics, reporting cadence and meeting.

Additional attribution work or a custom presentation.

Count source assets and destination adaptations explicitly. A caption rewrite, a fresh edit and a reused export require different effort. Record who supplies footage, product information and brand feedback. Use the content calendar to reconcile the promised work with available production capacity.

Illustrative estimate: Every input in the following example is an editorial planning assumption dated 2026-10-18. It is not observed market data, a recommended rate or an Uplonic service quote. We checked the sums and margin calculation with a JavaScript calculation script.

Total assumed delivery time

Continuing the same hypothetical example, assume a loaded delivery cost of $40 per hour and $100 of allocated monthly tools and expenses. Labor is 30 × $40 = $1,200, making the modeled delivery cost $1,300. At an assumed target margin of 20% of the fee, the modeled quote is $1,300 ÷ (1 − 0.20) = $1,625. The remaining $325 is 20% of that fee. All figures here are assumptions or calculated outputs from our example, verified 2026-10-18.

The loaded rate must cover the costs you intend it to cover. Include overhead there or as a separate allocation, and avoid counting it twice. Unmodeled costs reduce the amount remaining. Advertising spend, creator purchases, taxes and any other excluded expenses need their own treatment in the actual proposal; the example does not calculate them.

The formula is modeled fee = modeled delivery cost / (1 - target margin). Use it as a transparent planning calculation, then compare the result with your scope, capacity and the client's decision. Replace the example inputs with evidence from your own work logs as it becomes available.

Choose how the client buys the work

An hourly arrangement makes time visible when the scope is uncertain. A project fee suits a defined campaign or deliverable with acceptance criteria. A retainer reserves an agreed package or capacity over a recurring period. These are editorial descriptions of quoting options; no claim is made about the share of agencies using each model.

For a retainer, write what rolls over, what expires, what needs a change request and who approves additional spending. Separate initial account setup from recurring delivery if they require different work. If the budget falls, propose a smaller scope rather than leaving the same obligations implicit.

Budget creator work and software explicitly

If the brief includes buying a creator integration, estimate that deliverable separately. Our sponsorship rate calculator models a creator sponsorship range with deliverable, usage-rights and exclusivity inputs. Those inputs were verified in the tool's implementation on 2026-10-18. Its output concerns a sponsorship deal; the management quote still needs the labor and operating assumptions described above.

List software and channel costs in the proposal according to your agreement: included in the management fee, allocated as overhead or reimbursed separately. Automation can change the work required, but this article does not assign a measured time saving to it. Keep the fee tied to a scope the team can actually deliver.

Review the estimate against real delivery

After a delivery cycle, compare actual time with the assumptions and record where extra work arose. Discuss added channels, revision loops or community coverage before they become a recurring obligation. Retain the same scope definitions when comparing proposals so that a lower fee is not mistaken for the same service at a lower cost.
