Cookie Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This page lists every cookie and browser storage entry that uplonic.com and the Uplonic dashboard use, what each one is for and how long it is kept. How we process personal data in general is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. Strictly necessary cookies and storage
Without these, signing in and the dashboard do not work, so they cannot be switched off. Legal basis: they are strictly necessary for the service you requested, so no consent is needed (Hungarian Act C of 2003 Section 155(4), GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- mediadash_auth_token (HttpOnly cookie, first party) – your short-lived sign-in token; the server checks it before opening a dashboard page. Kept until it expires (about 15 minutes) or you sign out.
- mediadash_refresh_token (HttpOnly cookie, first party) – renews your sign-in so you are not logged out every 15 minutes. Kept for 30 days or until you sign out.
- NEXT_LOCALE (cookie, first party) – the interface language you chose. Deleted when you close the browser.
- sidebar_state (cookie, first party) – whether the dashboard sidebar is open. Kept for 7 days.
- uplonic_consent (cookie, first party) – your answer in the cookie banner, so we do not ask on every page. Kept for 6 months; after that we ask again.
- localStorage – the sign-in token (for actions in the dashboard), the selected workspace (its ID, name and storage folder — never its API key) and interface preferences such as the theme or a dismissed notice. Kept until you sign out or clear your browser data.
- sessionStorage – a temporary copy of the dashboard data you already loaded, so the page appears instantly after a reload. Deleted when you sign out or close the tab.
2. Statistics and attribution
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) – the _ga and _ga_QFVMCH1PQZ cookies distinguish visitors and sessions, so we can see which pages and articles bring sign-ups. Kept for up to 2 years. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser’s cookie settings.
- uplonic_ft (cookie, first party) – the first page you visited, the external site you came from (without its query string) and any campaign (UTM) parameters. If you register within 30 days, we store this with your account to know which content brought you. Kept for 30 days.
- Vercel Analytics – aggregated page-view statistics without cookies and without an identifier that follows you between visits.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Google Analytics and the uplonic_ft cookie are loaded only after you press “Accept” in the cookie banner; until you answer, and if you reject, no statistics cookie is set and nothing is sent to Google. Rejecting does not affect the use of the service.
3. Third-party services that set their own cookies
These load only when you use the feature; their cookies are governed by the provider’s own policy.
- Sign in with Google (Google Identity Services,
accounts.google.com) – on the sign-in and registration pages. - Cloudflare Turnstile – the bot check on the contact form.
- YouTube video player (
youtube-nocookie.com) – in guides; nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. - Social network sign-in windows (YouTube, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat) – when you connect a channel, the network’s own page may set its own cookies.
4. What we do not use
No advertising or retargeting cookies, no social-media tracking pixels, and no session recording. Error reports (Sentry) are sent without cookies, IP addresses or other personal identifiers.
5. Managing and deleting cookies
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the link (also at the bottom of every page). Withdrawing deletes the statistics cookies and stops Google Analytics.
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; deleting the site data of uplonic.com removes the localStorage and sessionStorage entries too. Signing out immediately deletes the sign-in cookies and the stored token. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
