On September 15, 2026, Meta launched Meta One, a subscription across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI. For creators and businesses, the Advanced plan — from $49.99 a month — includes "links in organic posts and reels". At the same time, some Facebook Pages are being capped at two posts with links per month unless they pay.

What changed

Meta One has consumer plans (Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at $3.99 a month, WhatsApp Plus at $2.99, bundles at $7.99 and $19.99) and four creator and business plans:

Meta says the plans are available globally but rolling out gradually, that "plans, benefits, pricing, and availability may vary by region, by app, and by account", and that the core experience of its apps stays free.

Separately, Social Media Today reported on September 17 that some Facebook Pages now see a cap of two posts with links per month, with a subscription lifting the limit. Meta first tested link limits in December 2025; publisher Pages are exempt. Meta's explanation is that the test checks "whether the ability to publish an increased volume of posts with links adds additional value" for paying users. Meta hasn't published which Pages or regions are in the test.

Who it affects

  • Creators and brands who drive traffic from posts — shop links, sign-ups, articles. Without a paid plan, the link in the post itself isn't available on Instagram, and may be capped on Facebook.

  • Everyone else: posting, Reels and Stories remain free.

What to do

  • Keep one link in your bio that leads everywhere. A link-in-bio page collects your shop, latest videos and sign-up in one place, and "link in bio" in a caption works without any subscription. You can build one with our link-in-bio pages.

  • Count your Facebook link posts if your Page shows the limit, and save them for posts where the link matters most.

  • Do the maths before paying. If a single link in a post brings you more than $50 a month in sales, Advanced pays for itself; most small accounts do better with the bio link.

Plan names, prices and features are from Meta's own announcement; the Facebook link limit is from Social Media Today's report, which quotes Meta. Both read on October 17, 2026. We'll update this article if Meta changes which plan includes links.
