How Twitch pays streamers in 2026
Subscriptions are the core. In the US, Tier 1 costs $5.99 a month (up from $4.99 in July 2024), Tier 2 $9.99 and Tier 3 $24.99. Twitch splits the net subscription revenue with you: 50% by default, 60% or 70% through the Plus Program.
The Plus Program counts Plus Points from recurring paid subs, 1 for Tier 1, 2 for Tier 2, 6 for Tier 3. Hold 100 points for three consecutive months and you get 60%; hold 300 and you get 70%. Since May 2024 Affiliates qualify too. Gifted subs pay the same share but don't earn Plus Points.
Prime subs pay a fixed amount set by the subscriber's country, $2.25 in the US since June 2024. Bits pay one cent each. Ads pay 55% of net ad revenue if you run at least three minutes of ads per hour, and 30% if you run fewer.
02
Outside the US: local prices and VAT
Twitch sets the sub price by the subscriber's country. In Hungary and much of central Europe, Tier 1 has cost €4.99 since July 2024, VAT included. Because Twitch shares net revenue, enter your local Tier 1 price in dollars and your VAT rate (27% in Hungary) under the assumptions.
03
Why the CPM is an assumption
Twitch doesn't publish ad rates. Industry estimates run from about $1 to $10 per 1,000 impressions, so the calculator starts at $3.50 and lets you change it. The ad estimate also assumes every viewer sees every ad, in practice subscribers, Turbo users and ad blockers cut it.
There is also no reliable rule that turns average viewers into subscribers. Enter your real sub count from the Creator Dashboard; if you don't stream yet, use the low end.

When you can cash out
Since May 2026, streamers who meet the basic criteria can switch on subs and Bits before becoming Affiliates; the money waits in a balance until you reach Affiliate. Affiliate needs 25 followers, 4 hours streamed on 4 different days and an average of 3 viewers within 30 days. Payouts start at $50.
